Welcome to NMC for a new year!

 

We hope that you had a wonderful summer. We are looking forward to having our school come alive with students next week.

 

I am excited to welcome you back to a place where learning, growth and community thrive. Let's work together to make this year one of curiosity, kindness and achievement. I look forward to all we will accomplish together.

 

Below and attached, you will find important information about school start-up, fees, schedules and orientation day.

Important Dates:

 

Tuesday, September 2 - School Open - PD Day

Wednesday, September 3 - Student Orientation Day (Full Schedule below

AM - Orientation for Grade 9

PM - Orientation for Grade 10-12

 

Thursday, September 4 - First Day of Regular Classes

 

Orientation Day Schedule (September 3)

Grade 9 Schedule:  

9:00 - Report directly to Gym for Welcome 

9:30 – Students go to classrooms for orientation

  • Teachers will discuss: 
    • Cellphone policy 
    • Tech check (who needs a loaner laptop?) 
    • Schedules  
    • How to find schedule on PowerSchool  
    • How to check email /Teams 
    • Assign lockers 
    • School Photos (Lifetouch)

11:30 - Dismissal

 

Grade 10 – 12 Schedule:  

1:15 – Report directly to Gym for welcome from admin and introductions of new staff 

1:45 – Students go to classrooms for orientation

Student Schedules:

Find your schedule by logging into PowerSchool. Parents can access through the Parent Portal.

Process for schedule request changes:

Students requesting timetable changes will be required to scan a QR code, posted in the school, and complete the Forms survey. Student Services teachers will then meet with each student requesting changes to discuss possibilities. Students need to request changes before Monday, September 8, with all changes to be completed by Friday, September 12. While waiting for a meeting with Student Services, students should follow their current schedule. 

 

Student Fees:

General School Fees - $90.00 (Includes Yearbook)

Art - $25 (Only for Art Students)

Musical - $25 (Only for Musical Theatre and Backstage Students)

Band - $25 (Only for Band Students and paid once)

Guitar - $25 (Only for Guitar Students)

Drama - $25 (Only for Drama Students)

Grad - $60 (Includes Convocation, Grade Gown and Cap, Grad Photo Sitting Fee)

Athletics - Varies dependent on the sport

 T-shirt, shorts/sweats, non-marking gym shoes for Phys. Ed.
