Corey Kapilik Appointed Assistant Superintendent

On Tuesday, April 29, the Board of Trustees confirmed the appointment of Corey Kapilik to Assistant Superintendent of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Anti-Racism for the 2025-26 school year.  

Corey joined the Board Office team in 2023 as the Divisional Principal of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism Services. In February 2024, he was appointed as Director of School and Classroom Supports

In his new position, Corey will provide leadership and guidance in all matters related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) across the 91̽»¨app. He will support the implementation of the Division’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan, advance professional learning, and lead the development of equity-based policies and practices.  

As part of his new role on the Senior Leadership Team, Corey will work to bring together the Instructional Support Team, Clinical Services Team, Indigenous Education Team, community organizations, and other divisional teams to reimagine our work with a lens that address systemic racism, promotes anti-oppressive education, and enhances accessibility. In addition, he will serve as the liaise Assistant Superintendent for the Dakota Collegiate and Nelson McIntyre Collegiate families of schools, René Deleurme Centre, and Louis Riel Arts and Technology Centre.
