Corey Kapilik Appointed Divisional Principal of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Services
On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team, please join me in welcoming Corey Kapilik, current principal at Marion School, into his new appointment as the Divisional Principal of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Services. The Board of Trustees confirmed his position at a Regular Board Meeting on Jan. 17. An official start date will be established once a new principal is hired for Marion School and a transition plan is finalized.
Corey brings many years of experience and knowledge to the position. Throughout his career as an educator and administrator, he has had a passion for Indigenous Education. Elders and Traditional Knowledge Keepers have inspired Corey in his career and personal life. He is proud to work in a school division and province that are doing amazing things and moving forward in a dynamic and courageous way to benefit all students.
Alongside Darcy Cormack, Assistant Superintendent of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Services, and Bobbie-Jo Leclair, Divisional Vice Principal of Indigenous Education, Intercultural Understanding and Transformation, Corey will provide support to schools in implementing to enhance outcomes for students and families.
