Remembrance Day and Indigenous Veterans Day
• Remembrance Day and Indigenous Veterans Day are around the corner. We would like to include photos or letters and artifacts of family members in our ceremony. If you would like to contribute a photo of an artifact, or picture of a familial service member please email emily.forrest@lrsd.net by Oct 31st. Please include the name of the person in the photo and who they are related to at NMC.

CRAFTING CONNECTIONS
Thursday October 30, 1:30-3:30
Parents and caregivers are invited to the NMC Community Space
We will be joined by our divisional grandmother, Kookum Hilda.
"Crafting Connections" will start off with a beading circle. Supplies, coffee and snacks provided. No experience required.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

We are organizing a group of community members for a Fall clean-up of the front Reflection Garden space here at Nelson McIntyre. The intension of the space is to provide an outdoor space to reflect on our individual journeys in working towards Truth and Reconciliation. QR codes will be posted throughout to help guide and educate visitors.

POWWOW CLUB
Wednesday, October 30, 6:00-7:30
Lavallee School, 505 St. Anne's Road
Parents, caregivers and students are invited to attend. Students will participate in dancing and/or drumming and parents and caregivers are invited to stay for snacks and teachings from Kookum Hilda.
COMING SOON:
KITCHEN BRIGADES
Kitchen Brigades will be starting up again soon and run once a week after school until June. If your student loves to cook or wants to learn more about cooking from a professional chef, this is a great opportunity and is completely FREE! Student knowledge and skills will develop throughout the year and there are opportunities for competitions, cooking a holiday dinner for friends and family, and making dinner for those in need. Please watch for more info coming next week.
