Changes to Winnipeg Transit

Dear 91̽»¨app Community,

Earlier this summer, Winnipeg Transit introduced its new . This update involved a complete redesign of the city’s bus routes and stops. The system now operates differently than in past years, and families should be aware that routes, connections, and stop locations may not be the same as before.

With this change, please note an important update:

  • Winnipeg Transit school charters are no longer available. All student travel that previously relied on these special charters must now be made using regular city transit routes.

In addition to the network changes introduced this summer, Winnipeg Transit will move to its fall schedule on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2025. This means that while routes remain the same as the summer launch, schedules and times will be adjusted for the new school year.

To prepare, families may wish to:

  • Check routes and plan trips using on Winnipeg Transit’s website.
  • Pick up printed system maps available at Winnipeg Transit Customer Service Centres or Winnipeg Public Library branches.
  • Be aware that Winnipeg Transit street teams will be available to assist passengers from Tuesday, Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 5 (look for blue vests with the Winnipeg Transit logo).

We encourage families who rely on transit to review these changes with their child(ren) before the first day of school to help ensure a smooth start.

Thank you for taking note of these updates ahead of the school year.

Regards,

Jeff Anderson

Assistant Superintendent
