The Kirk Cadman Walk of Dreams 2025

Kirk Cadman was a beloved student of Dakota Collegiate and Lavallee School. He cherished his time within the division. On March 1, 2023, Kirk tragically passed away following an accident. Despite the tremendous efforts to save him, Kirk's story took a heroic turn. Through organ donation, Kirk saved seven lives, including the recipient of his heart. His selflessness and courage have made him a hero.

To honour Kirk's memory, Transplant Manitoba and Athletics Manitoba has established the Kirk Cadman Memorial Classic, a track and field event. This event commemorates Kirk's athletic achievements, his indomitable spirit, and the message of never giving up on one's dreams. Additionally, a scholarship in his name will continue to inspire and support young athletes courteously of The Winnipeg Foundation, Athletics Manitoba, and Winnipeg Optimist Athletics.

We warmly invite the 91̽»¨app community to join us in celebrating Kirk's life and legacy on July 5, 2025 at the University of Manitoba Track and Field Stadium.

This year’s meet also serves as the official selection event for Team Manitoba, as young athletes compete for the chance to represent our province at the National Legion Track and Field Championships, facing competitors from across Canada. It is exactly the kind of moment Kirk would have loved—filled with purpose, pride, and possibility.

To support future generations of athletes, there will also be a Silent Auction and Bake Sale, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the Kirk Cadman Gift of Life Scholarship, awarded annually to two deserving athletes who embody Kirk’s values: strength, kindness, and an unshakable will to keep going. Your presence at this event would mean the world. Together, we can honour Kirk, share his story, and continue his mission of spreading awareness and saving lives. .
